This is a simple, DIY flower seed starting set. Use the seed starter for yourself or they make an excellent gift for a teacher, bus driver, mail person, gardener or any other person that could use a little fun.
Seed bombs are a mix of recycled paper scraps and a mix of North American wildflower pollinator seeds. Seed bomb flowers measure approximately 3 inches in diameter, the lips measure about 2”x1”. Please note sizes and shapes may vary due to their handmade nature. The colors of the seed bombs will vary from batch to batch based on the color of the recycled paper. Some may have inclusions such as glitter or flower petals.
SEED BLEND- This mix of wildflower pollinator seeds are native to North America. They include butterfly milkweed, Gayfeather, Siberian wallflower, sweet alyssum, Lanceleaf coreopsis, perennial lupine, purple coneflower, bergamot, cosmos sensation, baby blue eyes, California poppy, evening primrose, perennial Giallardia, red corn poppy, lemon queen, purple phacelia, Crimson Clover, Mexican hat, and New England Astor. This mix includes both annual and perennial seeds. The annuals will bloom only once the same year you plant them, and then the perennials will bloom yearly starting the following year.
PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS- Place seed bomb under a thin layer of soil (in an inside planter or outside during spring -after all danger of frost-early fall-8-10 weeks before the first frost) in a sunny location. Keep soil moist through seed germination, then water plants as needed. Germination typically takes 7-14 days. Height between 2-4’. Recommended spacing between seed bombs is 12 inches.
